Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

If you have a question that is not answered here, please use the Contact page to ask me a question and I will respond as soon as possible.

1. 

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

If you must cancel a session, a minimum of 24 hours notice is requested so that I can offer your time slot to other clients requesting sessions. If less than 24 hours notice is given, 50% of the session fee will be charged for the missed session. If there are repeated cancelled appointments, the full session fee may be applied. Cancellations are accepted by phone, text or e-mail.

 

Please note: Missed appointments with no prior notice will be considered a “no show” and the full session fee will be applied.

Will my information be kept confidential?

Your information is kept confidential according to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice set by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). When necessary, I do engage in peer supervision, and every effort is made to maintain your confidentiality (typically by refraining from the use of names). Peer supervision is completed with other clinicians who are bound by the same set of rules around confidentiality. Apart from this consultation, no information will be shared with anyone without your expressed, written and signed consent.

Are there limits to confidentiality?

Yes, by law I am required to release information to other appropriate sources in the following situations:​

  1. There is a reasonable belief that you will harm yourself or others.

  2. There is concern regarding the safety or welfare of an individual under the age of 16 or a vulnerable individual.

  3. If your file is subpoenaed by a court of law.

Do you prescribe medication

No.  Registered social workers cannot prescribe medication.

What is your availability?

I understand that it takes courage to reach out for help. I will do my best to accommodate your first session as soon as possible.

 

Currently, my hours for service include:

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday:  9:30am to 8:30pm

Friday: 9:30am to 6:00pm
